Uldale is a small, unspoilt village in the north of the Lake District National Park. It is
about 10 miles north of Keswick, 12 miles east of Penrith and 15 miles south fo Carlisle. The
surrounding fells are, with the exception of Skiddaw, quite gentle and very peaceful. They do
however, offer tremedous views of the better known fells to the south and also across the
Solway Firth to Scotland. They have a wonderful feeling of tranquility and solitude.
Uldale is ideally located to explore the northern and western areas of Cumbria -its mountains,
lakes and coastline. Not too far away is the historic city of Carlisle and Hadrian's Wall. There
are also a number of stately homes, gardens and castles within easy reach.
